Landowners in the Thumb region can now consult with a wildlife biologist through the Conservation District.
The District staffs a full-time wildlife/farm bill biologist to assist landowners in managing their property. The biologist has an office at the Tuscola Conservation District, but he will cover all of Huron and Tuscola Counties. The biologist is available to provide the following assistance at no charge.
•Conduct site visits and provide technical advice on wildlife habitat.
•Assist with sign-up with NRCS programs such as CRP.
•Help attain funding with wildlife habitat restoration.
•Develop wildlife plans.
•Help organize local co-ops to benefit pheasants.
